FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a number of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the most common ones…
Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, most roofing tasks shouldn’t be performed yourself. Also keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof may be very dangerous, so is it really worth risking your health so you can save money?
It would be great if we were able to give you a simple answer to this question! However there really is no one answer fits all for every question like that. There are several unique products available and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they see, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends on the kind of roof and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on particular days then this will definitely add time to the job. A small home might take about a week or so, while much larger industrial jobs may be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just be sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Given that your roof is constantly subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to degrade over time. The rate at which it breaks down will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the quality of the initial materials used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised because of the above issues. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of getting rid of any protective materials that have been included to provide cover from the weather. Furthermore, you should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they could also decrease the life of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will remove the ugly algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.

How To Choose A Reliable Roofer For Your House
The main purpose of your roof is always to shelter your family and friends through the rain, wind, snow, and harsh summer sun. Using a well-maintained roof is essential if you want to build a home that is certainly safe and comfortable.
Unfortunately, roofing materials don’t last forever. All roofs should be repaired or replaced at one point or another. Unless you will have the right tools and experience to complete the project yourself, that generally means hiring a professional roofer.
The significance of hiring the right company can’t be overstated. Most roofing projects are quite expensive. You should know that you are currently investing your hard earned dollars wisely and this the finished roof will last for several years into the future. Have a look at these tips on how to look for a reliable roofer for your own home:
1. Make use of a local company. Before getting a contractor, make sure that these people have a physical address inside your city or county. Local contractors are more inclined to be informed about the codes and building requirements in your neighborhood. Also, they are more unlikely to try and scam you away from your money since they have to maintain their reputation in your community.
2. Verify how the contractor is licensed and insured. Reputable contractors always take time to get licensed. You should certainly look up licensing information online with the website of your own city or state. Check to ensure that the contractor’s license is valid and that it is current before getting them. Additionally, ask the contractor to deliver proof of liability insurance and worker’s compensation insurance before they start work.
3. Solicit competing quotes. Don’t create the mistake of hiring the very first company that you simply contact. Instead, get in touch with at the very least various contractors in your neighborhood to get quotes to the roofing project. Ask each contractor to present you an itemized quote to help you see precisely where your hard earned dollars is going. Ideally, they should send an agent to the property to examine your homes roof directly before giving you an estimate. Doing this, the estimate they supply will probably be a lot more accurate.
4. Ensure the clients are trustworthy by reading through reviews off their past clients. Consider checking with groups just like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to confirm that no major complaints have already been filed against them.
5. Get everything in writing. Don’t you need to take a contractor at their word. Instead, ask them to provide you with a written contract. Ensure both you and the contractor sign the contract. Keep a copy on your own in the event that any problems or disputes arise. A signed contract reduces the risk of misunderstandings and offers you legal protection when the contractor fails to adhere to through on their promises.
